Abstract

144 35-day-old Nongda No.3 chickens were randomly divided into normal temperature control group (NTCG, which was raised in 22℃), high temperature control group (HTCG) and 2 high temperature treatment group (which were raised in 26-39℃). 5 chickens from each group were killed on 1, 4, 8 and 10 day, respectively. Specimens of duodenum, jejunum, ileum and cecum were obtained for PAS staining. Then the counts of intestinal mucosa goblet cells were determined by optical microscopy. Results showed that the number of intestinal mucosa goblet cells in HTCG, which was higher than that of the NTCG, tended to decrease with the maintenance of heat stress; both preparations 1 and 2 could increase the counts of intestinal mucosa goblet cells, moreover the former had better effect than the latter.
