Abstract
Feng Youlan's Neo-Doctrine of Principles wants to develop Chinese native thoughts of neo-Confucianism in the light of Western philosophy. It tries to ignore the differences between Chinese thoughts and Western philosophy and regards the doctrines of principles as philosophy. The key problem is,according to Feng,to distinguish between these two disciplines. However, his new doctrine falls into a dilemma in positioning itself because of his vague distinction between science and philosophy.
