Tian Yu Hua and Its Attitudes towards Peasant Uprising

Abstract
Ideologically speaking, the storytelling Tian Yu Hua has a few positive elements, but on the other hand, it is of seriously wrong political inclinations. Taking a reactionary stand of the bureaucrats and landlords, its author presents a distorted picture of historical facts by making up preposterous stories about the Peasant Uprising, and in particular about its leaders Zhang Xianzhong, Li Zicheng, Wang Haoxian. The author's animosity to the peasant uprising and his hatred for its leaders are unambiguously expressed, which reveals his intense political preferences.
