Effect of VEGF and its Receptor in Metastasis of Colorectal Carcinoma and Anti-metastasis Strategy

Abstract

Continuous growth and metastasis of tumor needs the formation of new vessels.Among factors affecting tumor angiogenesis,VEGF is the most effective and specific one,which can stimulate the proliferation and metastasis of vascular endothelial cells and promote the genesis of new vessels by binding with its receptors.The expression of VEGF has close relationship with the growth and metastasis of many tumors.The genesis,development,metastasis and prognosis has close relationship with angiogenesis mediated by VEGF and its receptors.This article reviews the effect of VEGF and its receptor in the metastasis of colorectal cancer and anti-metastasis strategy.
