Abstract
Species diversities of alpine meadow, alpine grassland and meadow grassland in Bayanbulak on the southern slope of Mt.Tianshan,XinJiang were studied. The results showed: coverage+height were more favorable to measure community diversity than coverage+individuals. There was a distinct positive relationship among Richness index,Margalef index and Shannon-wiener index.Richness index was a key diversity index to measure community diversty in a small spatial scale. There was distinct a negative relationship between above-ground biomass and diversity indices(richness index, margalef index and Shannon-wiener index).
