Abstract
Slicing process has great effect on the efficiency of rapid prototyping. In this paper, the factors affecting the slicing efficiency are analyzed. The rapid sorting algorithm based on triangular facets features is presented, and the quick contour generating algorithm and the rapid slicing algorithm are proposed. Based on the algorithms, a rapid slicing software is developed. Many applications demonstrate that the software is highly efficient, stable and reliable.
