Abstract

This paper discussed the history and advantage of WiMAX standard, and presented the key technologies in the physical layer and MAC layer for WiMAX standards. According to the comparison of WiMAX, 3G, Wi-Fi and MBWA systems, there is a mode for WiMAX to evolve into a worldwide network. The application of WiMAX is depictured in the end.
