With the development of society today, new English vocabulary sweeps in at a rate much faster than at any other historical period of time. New words are being invented or introduced every day to express new things and new changes .The expansion of vocabulary in modern English depends chiefly on the channels of semantic change, creation , word formation and borrowing.
