Abstract
In 177 cases with hepatic cystic echinococcosis treated by emulsion albendazole, 18 cases recurrent (10.2%) were found after 1~5 year follow-up. 88.8% of recurrence were occurred within 2 years after drug treatment. No influence on efficacy was found in dosage and courses of therapy. The high recurrenct rate occured in the aged cases and the recurred cases after surgical operation.11 recurrent cases were retreated with emulsion albendazole and cured after 6~9 months of therapy courses.
