Abstract

Objective To observe the effectiveness of pre-injection of penehyclidine and dexamethasone in restraining cough reflex caused by fentanyl. Methods 100 chosed patients of general anesthesia were randomly divided into experimental group(GroupⅠ) and comparison group(Group Ⅱ),50 patients in each group.Patients in group Ⅰ are mainlined 0.5 mg penehyclidine and 5 mgdexamethasone at 10 min before mainlined fentanyl, then the cough reflex cases(incidence) in two groups were observed and compared at 1 min after patients being mainlined fentanyl. Results There were four cough reflex cases(8%) in Group I and 18 cases(36%) in Group Ⅱ.The difference between two groups was very significan(t P 0.01).Conclusion Pre-injection of penehyclidine and dexamethasone can restrain cough reflex caused by fentanyl.
