Research and Practice of National Fundamental DOM Database Based on ArcSDE

DOM(Digital Orthographic Map) is provided with the geometric and image characteristics of map, with straight-sight and readability, plenty of information, fast acquirement, which is widely recognized by all circles of society. Therefore, it becomes the basic geographic data that is used more and more popularly. This paper, from the view of management and distribution service of massive DOM database, discusses the development trend of spatial database technology combining with the scheme and data model of ArcSDE, aims at the characteristics of data sources of national DOM and demands of database establishment, puts forward the design sketch and resolution project of national DOM database based on ArcSDE, presents the storage patterns and integration methods of national DOM database based on ArcSDE, realizes the efficient organization, safe storage, unified management and distribution service of massive national DOM database.
