Review on the COD removal methods of landfill leachate

Abstract

Currently in China the sanitary landfill is the main method to process the domestic garbage,but because of rainfall,stream flow and other factors,resulting in a large number of landfill leachate. Landfill leachate is a high concentration organic wastewater,especially with relatively high COD content,so the study on the COD removal methods of landfill leachate has great significance. This paper mainly studied the characteristics of leachate COD removal methods abroad in recent years,summarized the COD treatment methods and techniques in landfill leachate,and pointed out the development tendency of landfill leachate COD treatment in China.
