Abstract
Objective:To study the effects of Ginkgo biloba extract(GbE) on carbon tetrachloride induced acute liver injury in mice. Methods:All animals were divided into three groups:control group, carbon tetrachloride induced liver injury group and GbE treatment group, and the gavage administration was used for all the groups. The effects of Ginkgo biloba extract on serum GPT,liver tissue MDA and SOD activity were observed. Results:GbE could significantly decrease the levels of serum GPT and liver MDA(P0.01) and increase the SOD activities(P0.05).Conclusion:GbE has protective effects on GPT,MDA and SOD in mice acute liver injury caused by CCl4.
