Abstract

Between the golden decade( 2003- 2012),the grain production in China achievedthe tenth consecutive growth,food supply has been able to ensure national survival needs. High-yield behind,however,is the series of problems impacting the sustainable development of agriculture caused by a chemical agriculture with high investment and high energy consumption. This study attach much importance to the serious destruction of biodiversity,especially to the genetic diversity as well as the negative effect of causing traditional farming culture gradually fading away. Under the guidance ofecological civilizationconcept,the national agricultural policy is prompting China's agriculture from the current anti-ecological development model to convert to the ecological agriculture model embodying the versatility. Organic agriculture's unique effects on protecting biodiversity,inheriting our farming culture and safeguarding food security,make the organic development pattern becomes one of the effective approaches to the sustainable development of agriculture in China.
