Abstract

Objective To explore the feasibility and the effect of combining closed inter-locking intr- amedullary nailing with minimal invasion bone grafting to treat Type C femoral fractures. Methods 15 femoral shaft fractures were treated by combining closed interlocking intramedullary nailing with minimal invasion alloge- neic bone grafting. Results The follow-ups averaged/2 months(range from 4 to 22 months). In all cases fracture healing were at 7.4 months averaged,in which 12 cases were excellent and other 3 had good results,as no delay union and joint functional defects. Conclusion In the study, treatments of type C femoral fractures combining closed inter-locking intramedullary nailing and allogeneic bone grafting may have good results in the near future.
