Comparision of Main Morphological Index of 32 Portions of Wild Medicago falcata L.

This study was carried out to investigate the main morphological characteristics and genetic morphological differences of Medicago falcata L.from various regions of Xinjiang.The results showed that the main plant-type of Medicago falcata L.was inclined type,accounted for 50.00%of total;the shape of mainly leaf was oblanceolate,accounted for 43.75%of total;surface smooth and the back sparse hair of leaf was its mainly type, accounted for 62.50%of total.Variance analysis of plant morphology showed that the differences among populations were greater than that within populations,natural height,leaf width,absolute height,internode length,leaf length/leaf width,internode number,stem diameter,leaf length,plant natural height/absolute height were significantly different between populations(P0.05);Within populations,only the plant natural height was significantly different(P 0.05).The samples collected from 32portions of wild Medicago falcata L.in Xinjiang were divided into four types:low plant,branches dense type,ordinary type plant tall and big type.The Medicago falcata L. from Buerjin No.B5was better breeding resources.
