Abstract
Proline is an important osmotic adjusting materials to adapt to environmental stress in plants.This article summarized the effect of proline for Osmotic stress tolerance in plants,the advances in the accumulation paths of proline,and the genes,which are related to proline metabolism and transportation,the relative genetic engineering improvements for Osmotic stress tolerance of plants were also reviewed in this paper,puts forward some problems in present researches about Osmotic stress tolerance in plants and some directions for the following study,in order to provide a theory basis on genetic improvement in stress resistance of plants.
