Abstract
The paper is an attempt to cultivate the aerobic granular sludge was cultivated in Sequencing Batch Airlift Reactor(SBAR),study the formation of aerobic granular sludge and the granulation process, and continuously observe the treating effects of municipal wastewater. The results show that well-cultivated aerobic granular sludge offers the settling velocity of 33.85 m/h,SVI of 32.24 L/g and the strength up to 82.63% and specific oxygen-utilizing rate of sludge(OURW) of about 1.20 mg/(g·min)-1.The granular activated sludge exhibits better properties than conventional activated sludge and so can last for a longer period. The granular activated sludge shows the COD removal rate up to 96.10% and the removal rates of NH3-N and TP up to 80% respectively, and yields more stable quality of effluent water.
