Microsurgical treatment on cerebellopontine angle epidermoid cyst

Objective To study the microsurgical treatment of epidermoid cyst in cerebellopontine angle.Methods A retrospective review of 20 patients was undertaken,The clinical manifestation,preoperative CT?MRI festures and postperative complications were discussed in 20 patients.Results Total resection of the tumor was achieved in 15 cases,subtotal resection in 5 case,no patient died in all the cases.Conclusion Most epidermoid cysts in cerebellopontine angle can be totally resected by appropriate approach and microsurgical skill.To prevent asepsis memingistis and other complications were important by postoperative lumber vertebrae puncture drainage CSF.
