Abstract
The effects of manganese(Mn) stress on seed viability, and membrane permeability, lipid peroxidation and antioxidants in seedlings of rape(Brassica napus cv.Shengli) were studied under Mn stress(nutrient solution containing 0.2,0.4,0.8 and 1.2% Mn2+).Mn stress resulted in a decrease in seed viability, content of ascorbic acid(Vc) and activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) and catalase(CAT) and in an increase in malondialdehyde(MDA) and proline(Pro) contents and peroxidase(POD) activity of the rape seedlings. The integrality of the cell membrane was destroyed under Mn stress.
