Abstract

Fish community and fishery utilization were investigated by biological measurement of 803 individual fish sampled from 1081 kg in Xingkai Lake during May to October of 2012,with the total catch of about 295 t throughout that year.Fifty fish species were found, and in recent years, fish population structure was changed because of the changing environment in Xingkai Lake, the fishing individuals being characterized by young in age, miniaturization in size and continuous decrease in the fishery production. The composition characteristics and dynamic changes in fishing production were evaluated compared with the investigation data in the past to find out the tendency of fish population structure and the proposals of fishery sustainable utilization in Xingkai Lake are discussed.
