Abstract

Objective To evaluate the angiographic manifestations and clinical value of ultrasound-guided therapeutic embolization in iatrogenic vascular injury. Methods 22 cases with vascular injuries caused by surgical process or interventional punction were collected.Arteriogrphy was performed in 19 cases,11 cases underwent thera-peutic embolization, and 3 cases were treated by ultrasound-guided thrombin injection. Results In 19 cases, extravasation of contrast medium was found in 8 cases, pseudoaneurysm in 7 cases, arteriovenous fistula in 1 case, and artery dissecting and occlusion in 3 cases. After embolization, the bleedings were stopped in 7 patients, with no occurrence during following-up;one died for multiple organ failure;bleeding occurred in 2 cases;one was treated by arterial em-bolization again.3 patients who underwent ultrasound-guided thrombin injection cured. Conclusion Arteriogrphy and ultrasonography are determinant for the diagnosis and therapeutic choice, and effective and safe in the treatment of iatrogenic vascular injury.
