Characterizing Higher Vocational Education,Stressing Practical College English Teaching

Teaching material is the main means to attain course teaching's objectives,and it is also the carrier to put teaching thought and pattern into practice.In recent years,with the development of higher vocational education, higher vocational teaching materials are also booming,including higher vocational English.The diversification of teaching material edition has broadened teachers and students' choosing range,but it's also brought confusion.How to choose the appropriate teaching material?What is the principle and standard of choosing teaching material?This paper,with two sets of College English materials analyzed,expresses some personal opinions on selecting and pre- paring for teaching materials to build better higher vocational English courses and improve the teaching quality of higher vocational English.
