Repair of ventral incisional hernia with IPOM and Sublay method

Abstract
Objective To discuss the therapeutic effect of open ventral incisional hernia repair with dual sided complex patch.Methods The clinical data of 16 patients who underwent open ventral incisional hernia repair in our hospital from January 2008 to December 2010 were retrospectively analyzed.Results BARD Composix E/X dual sided complex patch was used to repair of ventral incisional hernia concluding 9 IPOM and 7 Sublay different methods.No patient suffered from hernia recurrence during the follow up from 6 to 42 months.All patients were cured without wound infection,seroma formation,bowel obstruction and intestinal fistula.Conclusion Using IPOM and Sublay methods with dual sided complex patch to repair ventral incisional hernia is safe and effective.
