Abstract
On the basis of real lingustic material analysis, the thesis proves that the interrelation of meanings of words in ancient Chinese is a speacial evolution way of meanings of words. The author suggests that the meaning of wine lees for zao(糟)──the distiller's grain, catapult for tan (弹), arranging or putting for an(安)──originally meaning stable and safe, colour for yan (颜), and snivel for ti(涕)──nasal mucus are all acquired in the course of the collocations of words by way of the inerrelation of meanings of words.
