Abstract
Objective:To investigate the curative effect of esomeprazole on Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease(GRED).Methods:96 patients with GERD were randomly divided into three groups, including 32 in esomeprazole group who were given Esomeprazole 20 mg twice daily and Cisaprice 10 mg three times daily,32 in omeprazole group who were given Omeprazole 20 mg twice daily and Cisaprice 10 mg three times daily and 32 in famotidine group who were give Famotidine 20 mg twice daily and Cisaprice 10 mg three times daily.Major symptoms were evaluated 8 weeks after treatment and cure rate of esophagitis was monitored under gastroscope 8 weeks after treatment. Results:The cure rate of symptoms was 96.88% in the Esomeprazole group,93.75% in Omeprazole group and 62.50% in Famotidine respectively after 8 weeks after treatment, showing a significant difference(P0.01);but there was no difference of statistical significance between Esomeprazole group and Omeprazole group(P0.05).The cure rate of patients of esophagitis in the three groups was monitored under gastroscope 8 weeks after treatment, which was 87.50%,81.25%,28.14% respectively. There was a difference of statistical significance between the first two group and the last group(P0.01).Conclusion:Esomeprazole is very effective in the treatment of GERD.
