Evaluation of porcelain laminate veneer in clinical application and contrast analysis to porcelain-fused-to-metal

Objective To evaluate in clinical application of porcelain laminate veneer and observe the effects of porcelain-fused-to-metal and porcelain laminate veneer on gingival edge of the discoloration.Methods 26 cases of 51 anterior teeth that had been repaired by procelain laminate veneer were selected.Evaluated the aesthetic effect,gingivitis,comfort and fitness edge of the porcelain laminate veneer.Compared the porcelain laminate veneer with 52 porcelain-fused-to-metal repair of anterior teeth of 30 cases at the edge of the discoloration.Results 51 porcelain laminate veneer in aesthetic effect,gingivitis reaction,comfort and fitness edge were 88.2%,3.9%,94.1% and 98.0% respectively.The incidence of gingival edge of the discoloraction was higher in porcelain-fused-to-metal group(30.7%) than in porcelain laminate veneer group(3.9%)(P 0.05).Conclusion Effects of porcelain laminate veneer on the margin of gingival,aesthetic aspect etc,are superior to that of porcelain-fused-to mental.it is an ideal material in vepair of anterior teeth.
