Abstract
To solve the serious short-circuit current problem facing 500 kV grids of East China,East China Grid carried out the demonstration project of installing the 500 kV series reactor in Shengsi Substation in 2008.The key technologies of the project are studied, including site selection of the reactor and prevention of instant recovery over-voltage of the circuit breaker.Based on actual data and relevant theory, the adaptability of the system and the electromagnetic influence are analyzed.
