Clinical observation of Qianliejiedu capsule on the treatment of chronic prostatitis

Objective To observe the effectiveness of Qianliejiedu capsule in the treatment of chronic prostatitis.Methods A total of 180 chronic prostatitis patients were enrolled in this study,and they received a treatment of oral Qianliejiedu capsule for 1 months(4 tablets,2 times per day).NIH-chronic prostatitis symptom index(NIH-CPSI)and counting leukocytes in expressed prostatic secretions(EPS) were applied to assess the effectiveness afer the treatment.Results Overall scores of NIH-CPSI in 180 patients,45 patients(25%) were cured,68 patients(37.8%) obviously effective,48 patients(26.7%) effective and 19 patient(10.5%) no effect.Total effective rate was 89.5%.The apparent side effect was not observed in all treated patients except 4 patients(2%)felt sick or poor appetite or discomfortable in the upper stomach.Conclusion Qianliejiedu capsule is a safe and effective medicine for treatment of chronic prostatitis.It can realease the symptom of pain and urination disorder rapidly.
