Application of Network-based Intrusion Detection Technology

As the accidents of network attacks frequently occur in recent years,their sphere of influence is becoming wider and wider.Intrusion detection,as a means of proactive security and defense,through the real-time analysis of the network data stream,could find the potential intrusion threat,and maximally enhance the guarantee capability of network security.Based on the analysis of IDS concept,this paper designs and describes main modules of the network-based intrusion detection system,and points out the shortcomings of IDS system including its future development.
