Abstract
Age-related macular degeneration (ARMD)is one of the leading causes for blindness in the elderly and its frequency in general population increases with aging. Choroidal neovascularization (CNV)secondary to ARMD is the main cause of vision impairment. Laser photocoagulation , transpupillary thermotherapy (TTT)and photodynamic therapy (PDT)are all applied in ARMD. PDT is a most effective treatment approach according to the recent researches.
