Implementing the Scientific Viewpoint of Development to Promote the Building of the Economic Zone on The West Coast of The Strait

State Council discussed and basically passed Some Advice on Supporting the Building of Economic Zone in The West coast of the Straits of Fujian Province on the fourth day of May in 2009,and for the first time decided on strategic function position of the economic zone on the west side of the Straits and formulated its characteristic strategic plan.This means that as an national strategic development objective,the compaign gains policy support from the central government.Using the scientific viewpoint of development to direct and plan as a whole the development of the economic zone on the west side of the Straits we can promote the opening-up,coordinated development,all-round prosperity of the the west side of the Straits,and build a base for all-round cooperation of the construction of the west side of the Straits,thus making the economic zone on the west side of the Straits a new economic growth point,following Yangtze River Delta 、Pearl River Delta、Bohai-Rim Economic Zone,an important area for economy and trade cooperation and scientific and cultural exchange across the Taiwan Strait,an important gathering area of various resources from home and abroad,and an important base for promoting the reunification of China.
