Abstract

How to effectively prevent and treat bone nonunion has been a challenge in orthopedics field.Prevention of nonunion requires to overcome iatrogenic factors,and correctly follow the BO principles in the process of fracture management.For the treatment of bone nonunion,the surgeons should pay attention to the following aspects.(1) direct connection of broken ends;(2) reconstruction of grafted bone;(3) proper fixation with external fixator;(4)change of blood supply in periphery soft tissue;(5)functional rehabilitation;(6) and other assistant treatment for bone healing.These principles and points are keys to ensure effective prevention and treatment of bone nonunion.
