Abstract
In order to improve the communication performance of distributed system,a combination of Ethernet and RS485 bus is used. The RS485 bus control system is reconstructed to an Ethernet distributed control system without changing the current network structure. This paper designs un low-cost RS485-Ethernet protocol converter based on W5100 and STC MCU. The hardware structure and software design are introduced based on description of operating environment of converter. The application results show that the design converter can implement the transparent communication between RS485 and Ethernet,long-distance high-speed reliable data transmission and has certain practicability and popularization value.
