On Modernization of Marxism and Development of Contemporary Democratic Politics

Some social issues in contemporary China belong to the problems in development which need to be solved by modernizing Marxism. The modernization of Marxism is a requisite for promoting democratic political construction, and the arduous nature of democratic political development must be deeply comprehended. The socialist practice of over-passing the Cafudin Valley does not lay a firm foundation for the construction of democratic politics, while Chinese national conditions and historical traditions compose a very heavy burden for democratic political construction. Moreover, the one-sided interpretation of Marxism brings barriers to the breakthrough of ideological restraints. The pressing conflicts occurring in the process of Chinese social development has made it an urgent task to Chinese democratic political construction. How to develop a socialist political pattern with Chinese characteristics and a socialist monitoring system, promote political reform with an innovative spirit and the positive interaction of inner-party democracy and people's democracy, enrich democratic forms, and to democracy at the grassroots level are the important issues in carrying forward the modernization of Marxism to realize democratic politics.
