Abstract

The peroxidase isozyme patterns in leaves of 26 lotus cultivars were analysed via polyacrylamide isoelectrofocusing technique. Results of the analysis indicated that peroxidase could be divided into 16 isozyme bands while PI being in the range of pH 4 0-6 0, and that there were 4 characteristc isozyme bands in common, namely the PI was 4 32, 4 78, 4 88 and 5 04, respectively. The SI values for each cultivar′s bands were calculated, according to the frequency of each isozyme band of corresponding cultivars. The evolution of some cultivars and methods used in this research were discussed.
