Abstract
In combination with model experiments for the Yanguan Lock, sediment deposition is studied and engineering measures for deposition reduction are discussed. The research shows that the construction of the Yanguan Lock results in serious sediment deposition, that the use of part of discharge during the flood season to scour deposition in the access channel is effective, and that the combination of flow scouring with machine agitating may help improve sediment scouring efficiency greatly. The change of the slope section to vertical section and the reduction of wetted cross-section may not only decrease deposition but also improve sediment scouring efficiency.
