Abstract

Objective:To investigate the clinical application and the technique of neuroendoscope endonasal-transsphenoidal surgery for pituitary adenomas. Methods: Twelve patients with pituitary adenomas were diagnosed by CT or MRI,treated with neuroendoscope endonasal-transsphenoidal surgery, the tumor was resected under neueosurgicalfloor was exposed. Results: Total removal of the tumors in 9 cases, partial removal in 3,postoperative,transient cerebrospinal fluid leakage occurred in 2 cases,3cases developed diabetes insipidus,4 cases were restored the normal hormone level,7 cases were recovered the eyesight, none of the patients were suffered from permanent complications. Conclusion: neuroendoscope endonasal-transsphenoidal surgery can provide an excellent exposure for the supra-and parasella tumors, minimal invasion and perfectsurgery vision. This approach is a less destructive, less complications, rapid recovery method for the treatment of pituitary adenomas.
