Abstract
The effect of alumina, kaolin and sintering temperature on the shock resistance and creep behavior of corundum-mullite composite ceramics were investigated by orthogonal experiment. The results show that kaolin has the most significant effect on shock resistance, followed by alumina and final the sintering temperature, while alumina has the most important effect on creep behavior, followed by the sintering temperature and finally the kaolin. The increase of Al2O3 micropowder decreased creep ratio and improved the shock resistance. The improvement of sintering temperature decreased the creep ratio but depressed the shock resistance. The increase of kaolin also led to the decrease of shock resistance.
