The Necessity of Offering Chinese Music History Course

An overview of the development of Chinese music history shows that,from ancient times to modern times,the elders have engaged in the constant research and exploration of the music history and made a lot of achievements and experience.Till now,it has already developed into an independent discipline.With the further penetration of research problems and the futher broadening of research field,the music historians have obtained a lot of research achievements,which made them realize that the Chinese traditional music is extensive and profound and has close ties with Chinese traditional culture.Therefore, to study the Chinese music history is essential to understand the Chinese traditional culture and the development of our nation.
