EFFECTS OF CHINESE MEDICAL HERBS ONCHICKENS GROWTH AND IMMUNIZATION

Effects of selective Chinese medical herbs(added to diet at 1%,respectively)on growth and immunization of chickens were studied.Results showed that mean body weight and daily gain of chickens in all of studied groups were similar to control group.The bursa relative weight of chickens in acanthopanax scenticosns group was highed significantly than others(P0.05).Serum antibody titres to ND of 0.2ml immunized chickens in ligustrum lucidum and acanthopanax scenticosns group were significantly higher contrast to control,meanwhile,Ginder,Atractylodes macrocephala,codonopsis,lycium and scutellaria groups had higher serum antibody titres than control too,but no significant difference was observed.Serum antibody titres to ND of 0.5ml immunized chickens in ligustrum lucidum group were significantly increased compared to control.Serum ND antibody titers of the birds in ligustrum lucidum,schisandra,acanthopanax scenticosns and codonopsis groups were higher contrast to control after immunized with NDV.In conclution,immunization effects of ligustrum lucidum,codonopsis,lycium,schisandra and acanthopanax scenticosns were better than other Chinese medical herbs used in the present study.
