Abstract

The adsorption thermodynamic and mechanism of purified palygorskite for cationic pink dyestuff from aqueous solution were investigated. Equilibrium data for the adsorption of cationic pink dyestuff from aqueous solution within the temperature rang of 298-328 K and investigative concentration rangewere obtained and correlatedwith a Langmuir-type isotherm equation. The results indicatedthat the process of sorption of cationic pink dyestuff from aqueous solutiononpurified palygorskite is an endothermic process. the adsorption parameters of thermodynamic were calculated according to the relationship of thermodynamic function: enthalpy is 0.49kJ/mol , adsorption free energy is in the range of -27.48——30.29 kJ/moland the adsorption occurringbecause of the decrease of Gibbs free energy and adsorption entropy is 93.85 kJ/molK. The adsorption behaviors are reasonablyinterpreted.
