Abstract
Objective To evaluate the value of B flow ultrasonography in examining deep vein reflux of the lower extremities. Methods There were 50 patients suspected deep vein reflux underwent 2 D real time image,B flow ultrasonography and color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI).The results of the mobility and texture at the first valve of superficial femoral vein and the valve of great saphenous vein on 2 D image,B flow and CDFI were compared with the severity of venous reflux confirmed by the surgery. Results The structure of the first valve of the superficial femoral vein was clearly showed on B flow ultrasonography.Comparing B flow ultrasonography with surgical results, the valve reflux index and the diameter of the superficial femoral vein at the level of the first valve were correlated with the severity of venous reflux, but not the time of valve reflux. Conclusion B flow ultrasonography is very helpful in detecting deep vein reflux of the lower extremities.
