Abstract
To synthesize cinnamic acid using Perkin method,to mainly study the influence of some factors which are the molar ratio of benzaldehyde and acetic anhydride, reaction time, the molar ratio of benzaldehyde and catalyst and the type of catalysts on the yield of cinnamic acid. The results show when molar ratio of cinnamic acid and acetic anhydride is 1.0∶3.0,reaction time is 70 minutes, the molar ratio of cinnamic acid and catalyst is 1.0∶1.0,the catalyst is potassium carbonate and the reacti on temperature is 160~170 ℃,the yield of cinnamic acid is 74.4%.Choosing appropriate solvent and process conditions,to get higher yield with cinnamic and acetic anhydride as ingredients.
