Abstract
A model describing the breakdown mechanism of Sub-nanosecond gas switch is established.Because there is no an ideal model to describe the gas discharge, the electron avalanche is considered as the basic process in gas discharge. After investigating literatures of gas discharge domain at domestic and abroad and based on gas discharge theory,in the thesis, the mathematical model of gas electron avalanche in short gap is proposed and the process of electron avalanche growth is simulated by computer. This research work not only provides one method for explaining sub-nanosecond switch gas-discharge,but also provides the theoretical basis for the experimental study.
