Research on the Spatial-Temporal Characteristics of Urban Resident Recreation Behavior

To meet the leisure time recreation demand of urban residents not only relates to private choices of rural residents but also to a city’s development.For Nanjing citizens,the desire and intensity of recreation are decided by factors like individual physical and income conditions of urban residents,recreational area types and distance.From the spatial and temporal perspectives,urban residents’ recreation time positively correlates with their leisure time;the longer the distance is the less the people are,a distance attenuation law.Regarding to conditions of recreational areas,many problems have hindered rural residents’ participation in recreation,in terms of limited attraction of recreational facilities,high expenses,poor service,and inconvenient traffic.Government departments should enhance the guidance of recreational ideas,intensify investment,strengthen the building of infrastructure and recreational functions,focus on solving public transportation and environmental protection problems,push forward recreational resource integration in an effort to constantly improve recreational service and products and offer better public service.
