The Role of Mifepriston in the Contraction of Oviduct Smooth Muscle

Objective To observe the effect of mifepriston on smooth muscle contraction of oviduct.Methods Oviducts(n=5) were taken from paunch rabbits and separated into 2 cm long,and then hanged on 3.5 ml tissue glass bath filled with Kerbs solution that was maintained at 37.8 ℃,continuously 95 % O2 and 5 % CO2 were aerated to glass bath continuously.Isometric contractile force generated by oviduct through force-displacement transducer was recorded the response continuously on a polygraph.After basic physiologic recording about 1h,mifepristone 10 μM was administrated in Krebs solution,and the contraction of oviduct smooth muscle was detected.Results Mifepriston can increase the frequency of oviduct smooth muscle and decrease the amplitude.Conclusion Mifepriston could be used to treat pathological adhesion and infection of oviduct.
