Abstract
With chaff and straw as the main materials for bamboo ground cover, the effect of ground cover on bamboo rhizome growth and the shoots was researched. The results showed that, after bamboo forest coverage, soil p H value was increased. Bamboo shoots significantly ahead of time, shooting time was prolonged, and bamboo shoots yield was greatly improved. Compared to non-forest land cover, rhizome long whip was significantly increased in 0 ~ 20 cm shallow soil profile, rhizome distribution was on shift trend, rhizome diameter was reduced, the total rhizome lateral buds was reduced, but the proportion of live buds in dormant buds was increased.
