Abstract
The paper systematically studied the effect of time of maturation in vitro,duration of 6-DMAP treatment and culture medium system on development of parthenogenetic ovine embryos.The results showed that oocytes matured for 25 h or 26 h before parthenogenetic development resulted higher blastocyst and hatched blastocyst rate than that matured for 24 h(P 0.01);the better activation rate was obtained when oocytes were treated with 6-DMAP for 2 hr;the development rate of blastocyst would tend to arise in new culture medium though there was no significant difference.These results suggested that to obtain better activation and development,oocytes matured for 25 h should be activated by 6-DMAP treatment for 2 hr and cultured in new culture medium.
