Abstract
The experiments of decreasing chemical fertilizer application and applying organic fertilizer in growing welsh onion were conducted. The results showed that the yield of welsh onion could increase by (34.6~270.9kg/666.7m~2,) or 3.1%~24.4% over the conventional fertilization when the contents of N, P and K were controlled within 20kg/666.7m~2. If foliar application was added under the different treatments the yield could increase by 186.0~425.9kg/666.7m~2, or 14.2%~32.0%. The overall evaluation of the yield, quality and economic result showed that it is feasible entirely decreasing amount of applied chemical fertilizer or controlling N, P and K contents within 20kg/666.7m~2 in growing welsh onion, and the combination of foliar application with the treatment 2 or treatment 4 of the experiments can be popularized in production.
